Evidently, tragedies don't have to do with how bad a sinner they were. Instead everyone should repent, because everyone is equally guilty before God, as the punishment is equal-eternity in hell.
Religion would wish to add levels-like Dantes inferno. Where some sinners-in hell-are more righteous than some unrighteous but in the end, "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
