Lev 10:1-2 & 16 - Two sets of brothers, two different issues *
Aaron had four sons - two of which God killed because of they're rebellion and contempt of God. In the pride of their heart they dishonored God by offering strange fire. They were also drunk, as most scholars believe, off the wine in the tabernacle - a temptation many ministers face (not to drink the wine but to indulge the flesh off the "spoils" of the ministry - the church business is a good business if people pay their tithes, and therefore the compensation and perks can be very tempting for the ministers to indulge in). Aaron had two other sons that replaced his former sons, and they also made a mistake in their service, yet God didn't kill them. Their issues was completely different than their brothers' issue - they did not have rebellion on their heart and they were bent on obedience. They humbly did all they knew to do and yet they still failed - God had mercy on them for this. Their brothers pridefully did that which they knew to do out of their rebellious hearts, and God killed them for it.When you sin, God sees your heart. Humbly submit to Him and let Him deal with you as He sees fit.
