I John 5:18 Not continue in sin
Again, those who truly love the Lord keeps conscious effort to obey His command and overcoming the world is not burdensome. They will not continue in sin but continue in obedience.
It's one or the other. If we do not continue in obedience, we will drift to continue in sin. Remember that obedience doesn't come automatically. Again when you don't continue in obedience, you wilnot just stay in neutral but automatically continue in sin.
