Forgiveness: Really? (Yes, Really)

Why? Because we kinda have to! It is so darn hard to forgive those who hurt, betray or take advantage of us. But we've got no choice.
Luke not only asks us to forgive; we are to take a further step and bless/pray them.
Now I dont know about y'all but that's the last thing I want to do after someone has hurt me! But that's my worldly self talking. One of Oprah's favorite sayings which I have adopted as one of mine too is, "when you know better, you do better". And so when I find myself struggling to forgive, I have to constantly remind myself; if you can't forgive, how can you ask God to forgive you? It just seems hypocritical. And that's humbling too.
This is what I do.... I forgive. But before blessing them... I give myself time to pray for me and I rid myself of the negativity... And then that's when I can truly pray for them. What's the point of praying when you're not doing it with your heart and full conviction?
Easier said than done! But if you find yourself actively doing this daily, it will soon become a habit and eventually a lifestyle!
God help us all.
