Cut off!
I have to wonder at this man that cut his concubine in 12 pieces to send out to the 12 tribes.
But the men would not listen to him. So the Levite took his slave woman and sent her outside to them. They forced her to have sexual relations with them, and they abused her all night long. Then, at dawn, they let her go. (Judges 19:25 NCV)
He wants justice...but was he just?
He allowed his concubine to be sent out to those ravenous wolves!
Maybe he should have been cut up and sent out as a warning to protect your women instead of giving them as entertainment to a mob of perverted men!
These men are so ready for war....
So all the men of Israel were united and gathered against the city.
The tribes of Israel sent men throughout the tribe of Benjamin demanding, “What is this evil thing some of your men have done? (Judges 20:11, 12 NCV)
.....to serve justice for the woman that was raped and died...but do they defend their own women at home?
Do they love them the way Christ loves the church?
Would they lay down their life for them like Christ laid His down for the church?
It's a vicious cycle! Men misuse and abuse women. Women disrespect men. Women abuse and misuse men.
Men disrespect women!
Cutting off body parts may have served its purpose in waking them up, in riling their feathers, but how about each one cutting off his own connection with evil?
Cut off the drinking...
Cut off the affair!
Cut off the pornography!
Cut off the over-indulgence!
Cut out the drugs...
Cut off bad relationships..
Cut off the pride!
Cut out the nasty tongue!
Cut off whatever feeds the sinful nature!
This would be the slap in the enemies face that is needed!
This would bring victory!
This would change homes, families, marriages, relationships, countries!
I've got some things myself that needs to be cut away.
So, Lord, cut away...
