He's not coming home. Where IS he?
She is desperate!!
They're getting married !
He hasn't called!
Whs has happened the Shulamite wants to know!
By night on my bed I sought the one I love; I sought him, but I did not find him.
(Song of Solomon 3:1 NKJV)
She cannot stand the thought of not knowing...
“I will rise now,” I said, “And go about the city; In the streets and in the squares I will seek the one I love.” I sought him, but I did not find him. (Song of Solomon 3:2 NKJV)
But she could not find him!
then the night watchmen found me as they patrolled the darkened city. "Have you seen my dear lost love?"
I asked.
(Song of Solomon 3:3MSG)
Has he left her? Did he find someone else?
Had she been jilted ?
She's alone, in that desert place...in the wilderness by herself...
What is this coming up from the wilderness like columns of smoke, scented with myrrh and frankincense from every fragrant powder of the merchant? (Song of Songs 3:6 HCSB)
And then she sees Him!
Look! It's Solomon's carriage, carried and guarded by sixty soldiers, sixty of Israel's finest, All of them armed to the teeth, trained for battle, ready for anything, anytime.
(Song of Solomon 3: 7,8 MSG)
King Solomon once had a carriage built from fine-grained Lebanon cedar. He had it framed with silver and roofed with gold. The cushions were covered with a purple fabric, the interior lined with tooled leather. (Song of Solomon 3:9, 10 MSG)
She encourages her girls to come out and see.
Go forth, O daughters of Zion, And see King Solomon with the crown With which his mother crowned him On the day of his wedding,
The day of the gladness of his heart. (Song of Solomon 3:11 NKJV)
He's been preparing a home for his bride!
He will take her home and there will be a wedding!
He has waited for this day!
His heart is happy!
The Shulamite seeks her beloved like we should seek our Christ!
And when we find him...never let Him go!
No sooner had I left them than I found him, found my dear lost love.
I threw my arms around him and held him tight, wouldn't let him go until I had him home again, safe at home beside the fire.
(Song of Solomon 3:4 MSG)
Safe...at last!
She found her love!
She's going home with the King!
Did you know an invitation has been sent to you?
But make sure you dress appropriately!
"When the king entered and looked over the scene, he spotted a man who wasn't properly dressed. He said to him, 'Friend, how dare you come in here looking like that!' The man was speechless. Then the king told his servants, 'Get him out of here—fast. Tie him up and ship him to hell. And make sure he doesn't get back in.' (Matthew 22:11-13 MSG)
Dress in salvation!
Or you're in trouble!
