Num 3:10 - Death of the Layman

We've all heard people refer to non full-time ministry people as "layman," which is clearly a term used in the OT to distinguish between the Levites and the rest of the 11 tribes of Israel. In the NIV they replace the term "layman" with "everyone else." In the OT God used this distinguishing factor so everyone would know who was allowed to be in the Tabernacle and offer the sacrifices and who wasn't. Only the Levites could do the duties of the priest and see to the upkeep of the tabernacle.

When Jesus came all of that was abolished. In Rev 1 we see that after the death of Jesus He made us ALL to be priests (all of those who call on His Name). The layman died, the priest arose! However, if the devil can convince you that you're a layman then he doesn't have to worry about you doing the duties of a priest. He doesn't mind you doing the duties of a layman. You need to destroy this in your mind! You ARE a priest of God with the great high priest in your heart!!!!! Now go do the duty of the priest!
