run away for the sake of my pride

It is so strange that Jeremiah's word here is surrender . It seem so opposite of everything we want to believe is right. We want to think " No way , it is always going to be like Joshua and wall of Jericho in my life. " But maybe not. Maybe God need to something in us first. Maybe we need to say " I was wrong" " I failed " for the sake of our pride. God loves the humble. I am really learning that, and if you aren't going to humble yourself he is going to do it for you.
