obey your father

The summary of this story is there is this family Rekab who Jeremiah is told by God to invite them over. He gives them win, but the refuse it because their father told them not to drink it and stay in tents, and God blesses them above his people because they obeyed their father.
this always moves me and I find so interesting on so many levels
1. God tells Jeremiah to offer the people wine when they come knowing that they will reject it. I think and that God wanted Jeremiah to see for himself what type of people they were.
2. They stay in tents. It keeps them on the move. Sometimes I know in life we get too stuck in our ways. We get complacent and we stop pursuing God , and in our stop we begin to backslide and sin. This people our staying in tents.
3. They obey their father and they are blessed. God loves obedience to parents, this is a hard one for me, but I think important.
4. I don't think they are God's people. We often want God to bless the people in church those who are following his every word, but God does see the heart. He blesses these people because again they obeyed their father for generations.
