Day#15 What on Earth am I Here For?
You were formed for God's family. God wants a family and He created you to be part of it. The entire Bible is the story of God building a family who will love him, honor him, and reign with him forever.
Every human was created by God, but not everyone is a child of God. The only way you get into God's family is by being born again into it. The invitation to be part of God's family is universal, but there is one condition- Faith in Jesus Christ.
Your spiritual family is even more important than your physical family, because it will last forever!
There are benefits of being in God's family. The Bible says, "God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus". As children of God we get to share in the family fortune. Here on earth we are getting the riches of his family name, his family likeness, family privileges, intimate access, and the family inheritance
This is a rich inheritance. As children of God, we get to share in the family fortune. Here on Earth we are given RICHES of his grace, kindness, patience, glory, wisdom, power, and mercy.
But in eternity we inherit even more:
1st- we will be with God forever.
2nd- we will be completely changed to be like Christ.
3rd- we will be freed from all pain, death and suffering.
4th- we will be rewarded and reassigned positions of service.
5th- we will share in Christs glory.
You are richer than u realize! The bible says, "God has reserved a priceless inheritance for his children. It is kept for u, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay."
This means your eternal inheritance is priceless, pure, permanent, and protected. Noone can take it from u! Retirement is a short-sighted goal. You should be living in light of eternity.
To identify with Gods family, we publicly identify ourselves with our spiritual family. One way we do that is Baptism. Jesus commanded this beautiful act for all in his family It signifies ur inclusion in God's family. Its a public announcement to the world, "I am not ashamed to be a part of God's family"
Baptism is important bc it declares ur faith, shares christs burial and resurrection, symbolizes ur death of old life, and announces ur new life in Christ
Baptism is the physical picture of the spiritual truth. It represents the moment God brought u into his family. Baptism doesn't make u a member of God's family; only faith in Christ does that. But, Baptism SHOWS u are a part of Gods family!
Being included in God's family is the highest honor in the GREATEST PRIVILEGE you will ever receive. Nothing else compares! When u feel unimportant, unloved, or insecure, remember to whom you belong.
