Pilate and Barabbas
Wanting to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas and crucified Jesus. How often do I do that? How often do I choose...CHOOSE...to do the thing I know will make people like me rather than the thing I know God would have me do, and in the process crucify Jesus all over again?
Lord, I believe. Help my unbelief!
While reading this passage, I also had to wonder what ever happened to Barabbas? I'm not a biblical scholar, and so this may be a common knowledge answer among those who are, but was his life changed for the better at all? Was his life more influenced by the fact that Jesus historically traded his life for Barabbas' life giving him a second chance...or that Pilate wanted to satisfy the crowd and turned a murderer loose on society?
