Finally-Pastor Robinson (Pentecost 2011)
*When we were chidren, it seemed like time moved so slowly. -It seem like we were always waiting. *Even as adults, it seems like we are still waiting -Our waiting is about different things such as jobs, mates, etc. *The waiting stops when we finally realize that all we need is in Jesus. -It is through the Holy Spirit that we receive what we are waiting for. *The disciples were playing the waiting game once Jesus rose from the day for 50 days. -They were waiting for the one who would give them power, fire, & gifts of the Spirit. *When we are waiting, it seems like an eternity. -Even when we are waiting on God, it seems like an eternity. -The thing is we can't hurry. *In order for God to come through, there are some stipulations: -We must be in one place: ~Gathering with the people of God in fellowship -We must be on one accord: ~It's not about doctrine, denomination, but believing in One God, One Praise *When these things get in order then finally the Holy Spirit will come through: -We will finally have excceedingly & abundantly above all we could ask or think. -We will finally have the power to cast out demons, lay hands on the sick, & speak in tongues. -We finally get to be who God calls us to be.
