400 prophets of Asherah
In 1 Kings 18:19 it mentions that besides the 450 prophets of Baal, there are also 400 prophets of Asherah. All the prophets of Baal were killed by Elijah, but in this chapter, Ahab still has 400 prophets. The story makes more sense when you realize that these 400 are prophets of Asherah. I always wondered why Jehoshaphat asked in verse 7, "Isn't there still a prophet of the Lord here?"
Jehoshaphat's question in verse 7 always confused me until now.
