Tragic: brothers turn against each other

The sin of disobedience leads to unforseen consequences!

All the while, the Isrealites battle, are ensnared and or oppressed by the nations around them. A situation they could easily have avoided if they had obeyed God and wiped out the nations of their inheritance.

It started with the deceit & compromise at Gibeon (that is if you discount minor rebellions like Achan's in Joshua 7) and led disastrously to Isreal taking up arms against, and killing one another.

Sin was everywhere. The judges couldnt achieve much in bringing the Isrealites back to God as many of them were unconsecrated themselves and were in it majorly for themselves.

Who will bring God's people back to Him?

A story of a great fall, rebellion, despair, anarchy, destruction. Many parts of this tragic tale ring true today.
