The Fasting Prayer
We live in a society of fast. Fast food, fast cars, fast money and so on. There is one thing that can not be rushed and that is our God. Yes there can be quick little prayers during the day, some people say that is all they do, but our God is a jealous God. He wants some undivided time alone with us.
There are times in our lives when we need to fast and seek His will. Esther saw this. Had she stepped into the kings room would have killed her? We will never know, I would think probably not, but Esther would not have had God's words to lay before him.
How many times have I heard God tell me to do something, but failed to pray for His words when I get there. We should always seek Him for His words and His words only, and then shut up when they end. Yes, I have a problem with that too, but then again I am still a human walking the earth, growing in the faith!
