God established the throne of David forever in Isreal; Jesus descended from David; many centuries later, God still kept referring to 'my servant David'.
I'd always wanted to be like David, to win God's heart too. Its easy to see why God loved him so.
Its appears God would have us:
Trust Him wholeheartedly even in the face of entirely new & unique challenges
Not accepting personal enemies, but waging war on God's enemies,
Not avenging ourselves on our enemies but rather fighting the enemies of our enemies,
Be true worshippers who are not ashamed of our love for Him,
To be reverent and want to give God our best & not keep it for ourselves,
Not too proud to confess our weaknesses & repent wholeheartedly before Him...
To mention a few examples from the life of this special man.
