God's Direction
Two things that I learned from these verses...1) It's amazing the power that a woman has and 2) Blood is thicker than water. Let me explain...
These Philistine men went to Samson's Philistine wife to get the answers to his riddle. Should two become one after marriage? Not in this case. The wrong mate was chosen. This is what happens when we take our eyes off of God and make our own choices. We choose wrong.
Ok, so, now Samson has been wooed and enticed by his OWN wife. She did everything she had to do, of course, because her own family life was threatened, to get the answer to Samson's riddle. She cried, she nagged, she whined....she was annoying. Samson had a weakness for sin and, at this point, he was annoyed by her and gave her what she wanted.
Also, not only was her family who she was worried about...she sacrificed for her own Philistine family. She backstabbed her husband for these men and in the end Samson lost. I guess that's what happens when you take your eyes off of God and His plan for your life.
Pray daily for Gods direction for your life so that you do not stray from His Plan.
