When do we stop believing?
These verses just made me understand why Jesus reacted the way that He did to his disciples.
The men were so afraid that they would die in this horrible storm. They had so much fear that they forgot that Jesus (the Savior) was on the boat...sleeping, without a worry or care. They stopped trusting in Jesus and became afraid.
It's kind of a funny incident because they didn't remember whom Jesus was. He is the Alpha and Omega, the creator of this world....yet they stopped trusting in Him.
How many times has Jesus been in your personal boat and you doubted His existence? How many times have you given your problems to God and then taken them back trying to handle them on your own?
If you are anything like me (a sinner saved by grace) then I'm sure you have done it plenty of times. I have to remember that there is literally nothing else that I can do but to give my problems to the Lord and leave them there.
See, this story would have gone so much better if the disciples would have just sat in a corner and allowed the storm to pass....but they didn't give their problem to Jesus who apparently wasn't even bothered because He was sleeping.
So, next time you are going through your storm (and trust me....there will be another storm!)....give it to Jesus and let Him handle it! Don't try to handle it. Leave your problems with the Lord.....everything.
