what do the Romans have to do with it?
I don't understand why the Pharisees think Jesus will cause the Romans to take away Jewish synagogues or temples.
I read another person's note that mentioned the fact that the Jews and the religious leaders were used to being the bottom of the barrel politically... maybe with so many Jews believing in Jesus as the Christ, the pharisees think that the Romans would see it as a division and weakness and try to enslave them again? otherwise, why would the Romans care about Jesus at all? The disciples haven't even been sent to any Gentiles yet.
