Daniel was studing the books of the prophets, and read that the Lord told Jeremiah that "jerusalem will lie in ruin for 70 years." mdue to the israelites disobeying God
Daniel took this seriously, his response shows it... he grieved, tore his clothes, fasted... but he didn't leave it with just doing the outward stuff... he confessed his sins to God, and earnestly prayed to the Lord... praising Him, Declaring His goodness.... and confessing the sin of his nation... crying out on behalf of them, allowing his heart to be broken for those around him... and crying out to God on their behalf... Daniel not only cryed out on their behalf... he aligned himself with the people, counted himself as one of the people who he was praying for.
A. Take seriously warnings that i am given for my self and my community, confess my sin, turn to God and fix my eyes on Him fully... then allow Holy Spirit to break my heart for the people around me, the people in my community, my nation, and the world, while remembering i am no different to them... i need Christ love and redemption as much as them.
The outward stuff means nothing if the inner stuff, the heart stuff isn't right with God
