The Israel priest were offering sacrifices that weren't appropriate or worthy to give as an offering to God... they were giving second best at most... by the sound of it they were giving what they didn't want themselves.... blind, crippled or sick animals...
Their offerings also weren't acceptable cause they were disobedient in the way they lived their life. They were living in sin... even though they wept at the alter because the Lord wasn't pleased with their offerings and wouldn't accept them... they wept because their offerings weren't accepted... not for why they weren't accepted.
What do we give God... do we just offer our left over money or time.... if we do we are no better than the Israelite priest...
God deserves the best... He created us, He has/will forgiven/forgive us, He sent Christ to save us.
who else has done this for us.... our gratitude should be great...
When we realise that our relationship with Jesus and the Father is not what it should be... too often we weep and repent for not being close to Jesus.... but we don't look for why or what is hindering our relationship... what we need to give up, or/and repent of...
