Made Through Him
"All things were made through God..."
Think about this for a moment. All things means all things. The trees, the mountains, the universe were all created through God and by God. All of created order is by His will and desire.
Now make this more personal - I was made through God and without Him I would not have come into existant. The Word becoming flesh is dynamic in many ways, yet it is very personal, especially when you make the verse about yourself.
I was created by God and for God. I was created to experience the pleasures of loving God w/ all my heart and being in a close relationship with him.
The simple fact that I was made through God means that I have the DNA of God inside of me. All humanity has the DNA of God in them and thus we long for something that is far above ourselves. The emptiness that we feel in our hearts can only be filled by the very person who created us.
We were created complete but when we chose to sin, sin took the place that God was intended to have in our hearts. Sin causes decay while it is God who brings us to life.
