Relativity
Well, my relativity theory goes right out the window.
See what happened is I read Exodus, and I thought to myself, "It's saying that as far as the Israelites were concerned, Moses was gone 40 days. But it doesn't say how long Moses thoughthe was gone for." This put into my head all sorts of fantastic ideas like, "Maybe because he was with God, time slowed down for him." I guess you can't blame me though. The guy didn't age naturally, and his face glowed when he came from God's presence. And the bible does say in the NT that, "A thousand years with the Lord is as a day, and a day as a thousand years" or something to that effect.
So, I allow myself one time-traveling-Moses false assumption.
On a more studious note, here is an example of one book going into further detail than another to give you the complete story. For example, right now the story of Balaam in Numbers confuses the heck out of me. I can't tell if he was a witch doctor who happened to believe in God, or a witch doctor temporarily used by God, or just a plain old witch doctor, cuz God used him and then afterwards God sent the Israelites to kill him along with the Midianites. I can't help but think this story will either be better explained to me by another book of the Bible that goes into more detail, or by some lost book like Jasher that I'll never read. Either way, God kept his own commandment that says, "Don't allow a witch to live." (Exodus 22:18)
