Success @imagechurch Colby Garman, Pastor Pillar Church

We teach people so that they will not lean on the knowledge that they currently have, but to apply that wisdom to affect the world.

Serving on mission changes you, it affects the rest of our lives when we truly open our hearts to the work of God.

Success is different depending upon your point of view. When we have our focus on God, our success in this world can look like failure, but when we live on mission we can never fail, fo "if God be for us, who can be against us."

Challenges: 1. When God delays our plans for His work

Humilty and patience are lessons that God needs us to learn. We are not the ones that are in control of our lives, no matter how hard we try. There is something powerful and transforming when we are doing what God wants us to do at a given moment regardless of our circumstances.

It is funny how God can move in our lives when we are given a certain understanding, but that He has plans for us, to prosper us. cf Psalm 37

When we finally give up control, that is when God can really move in our lives, When we let go and let God control the direction of our lives, we can be simultaneously filled with so much fear and so much peace, a peace that surpasses all understanding.

When we give God control of our lives, He does not always take away the fear, but either way calls us to trust.

God uses those who have learned to live with His guidance to speak into our lives. Our troubles can be used to comfort another.

"There are two days in my calendar, This Day and That Day." Martin Luther

God brings us through a journey that will be painful and hard, but it will shape us into the person He created us to be.

Sometimes the hardest understanding we can come to is "wait til tomorrow," and there is no earthly wisdom in trusting for today.

If we hope in "security" then we can never sacrifice.

3 ways to handle trials: 1. Rebellious Heart - There is no God, life is meaningless 2. Self-Righteous Heart - Cries out for vindication. God you owe me... 3. Humble Heart - When we see the reconciliation of Christ, it transforms our view of our experience

On THAT day when we are standing before Christ, it will bring the clarity we long for in life. Even more, that clarity will NOT MATTER. When we look upon the face of christ, the things of this life will grow strangely dim. Standing before the King of Kings, this life will not matter.

The faith that God is creating within us through the trials we face, will result in praise, glory, and honor at the end of this life.

Even as Christ put His hope in the resurrection, people mocked Him on the Cross. Even still, people mock Him today.
