4 Reasons Why Christians are Persecuted

1)political reasons jews were in a position of immense political influence on the governmental infrastructure of the regions. this exponential spread of the word of the christ posed an inevitable challenge to the jews of what they saw as rights to the people.

2)social reasons jews proyd of their heritage and didnt want gentiles to be included with them (the chosen people) a bit of arrogance here thinking they were better than the pagans

3) religious reasons jews had already chosen to reject the christ so they didnt want his work to spread. he jeopardized their income as some of the jewish religious leaders were living well off of the people. with the addition of the christ people are now able to go to God independent of the church without needing to pay them for interpretation.

4) spiritual reasons satan was definitely on the attack because if the advancement of the word. he recognized its legitimacy immediately and began his efforts to impede its progress by initiating attacks and persecution.

it is important to recognize that paul is not referring to all jews when he is writing this letter. he is a jew himself in this as christianity has not yet been distinguished as a seperate religion. it is his understanding that this is the new path and method that God has implemented in order for judaism to continue righteously.

it is also important to recognize that in spite of the persecution and reasons for it, paul continued to promote that each individual who would make themself a disciple of the word is responsible for the advancement of it. this call is not specific to only the leaders and ordained pastors and ministers of the faith. rather it encompases us all.
