God Bless The Child that Got His Own

The era/error of big government and entitlement is over! This was predicted years ago by Clinton. Somehow there is the idea that the only way out of this dire economic disaster, is to continue to cut/ dismantle programs that take care of elders and the least of these, while big biz continues to thrive AND get major tax breaks. It is evident that the politics are slanted toward the big biz. And so in the words of Billie Holliday, " ...God bless the child that's got his own." The Bible concurs with her lyrics. It is important that we realize that WE have a responsibility to take care of ourselves! It is up to US to have something. The text brutally and blatantly reminds us that we have to live at level to invest in us!!! Which means that we can't spend everything we make and then expect to reap. The text tells us that some will get more than us. Uneasy to digest, but it is true. Work the heck outta whatEVER is given us, whether 2, 20 or 200. Don't fret about starting at the bottom. If you work it, invest it, you will REAP! Sometimes we gotta do what we gotta do to make it. That may mean taking a job that you wouldn't have wanted in the beginning. We should always do better than what our parents have done. Whatever they did was a springboard for our future. If they made a 2, we should at least make it a 4. Also from the text, we learn that we MUST have a certain level of fiscal and financial intelligence to at least survive in this world. The lack of these will literally cripple you. You canNOT think that you are absolved of taking care of yourself. 1) Debt is bondage. The only freedom poor ppl have is to not owe anybody. 2) The wealth is being xferred based on our absorbption with consumption. 3) It is our responsibility to be employable. It is NObody's responsiblity to employ you. Get some skills! 4) Everyone is a philanthropist. Not just the Oprahs and Bill Gates. In the text, no matter what your level is, you should be in position to give back. 5) We can never be a great ppl by being selfish, and satisfied with a "comfortable" life. Lincoln was not great person b/c he was born in a log cabin but b/c he got out of it!
