Peace in the flood
Its funny in a strange way the feelings and imagery that this verse creates. The roaring of waterfalls, the awesome power of the waves of the ocean as they break at the shore... both of these things convey to me a sense of helplessness, almost a feeling of panic, like there is absolutely nothing in my power to stop what is coming. But when I know that they are His waterfalls and His waves and breakers, an unexplainable feeling of peace surrounds me and gives me comfort. What a freeing thought to know that God is in complete control through every situation, and even as the waves sweep me away, I can find peace in knowing that they are leading me to a place I could never have gotten to on my own.
