Paul's letter to the colossians 20
Colossians 4:6 ASV
Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer each one.
- The sins of the tongue are a source of great evil (James 3:1-12)
"Whatevers in the heart will come out of the mouth"
The sins of the tongue are one of the three areas of personal sins (Prov. 6:16-19)
Mental attitude sins such as pride are often a source of sins of the tongue. Flattery is one example (1 Thess. 2:5; James 4:16). They can destroy a united group of people, such as the church (Psalm 52:5; Romans 16:17-18; 1 Corinthians 5:6)
"When we fall it is Jesus who interceeds for us" Prayer from a pure heart directed to God is important
Control of the tongue is difficult, but if a person can control the tongue, that shows a level spiritual maturity and self-discipline that goes along with it (James 3:2).
Since we are in Christ and have Bible doctrine taught to us, we ought to bless or benefit others with the tongue, not cause then trouble (James 3:9-12). Speak life!
think of prayer less as an activity for God
