Look Past my Agenda
S: His parents said these things because they feared the Jews, for the Jews had agreed already that if anyone confessed that He was Christ, he would be put out of the synagogue. (John 9:22 NKJV)
O: The Jewish leaders were not looking for answers. They were looking to prove their point and in doing so had already reached an agreement as to how they would handle answers they did not want. Although the answer they needed was in their midst their own agenda blinded them to the truth.
A: I must have clear vision, conscience and heart. Anytime I have preconceived ideas or agendas, I am done learning. People will not be honest with me and I will not be open to what they have to say that is contrary to what I have already decided. I must maintain a teachable heart and be willing to consider things that may bring me out of my comfort zone. I can only be exposed to the truth if I am truly willing to see past my agenda.
P: Lord, please cleanse me of anything that is not of You. Help to keep a heart that is pure and true in seeking truth.
