what to do when you're anxious


Proverbs 12:25 tells us that anxiety weighs down the hear, but good words cheer it up. Psalm 94:19 lets us know that our loving God is there to comfort us when anxiety is great. Phil. 4:4 reminds us to fixate on ourself less and on God more by telling us to rejoice because the Lord is near. That's some positive advice. Phil 4:5-9 tells us to never ever be anxious. Without ceasing, tell God your anxieties and how you desire for them to be gone. Ask him to guard your heart and mind in Jesus Christ's name. Ask God to fill you with the peace of the Holy Spirit within you. Let Him know you desire to trust him more, but your anxieties are getting in the way. (You cannot have trust and also anxiety--they are opposites. Trust breeds joy and confidence and takes away fear and anxiety.) Finally, only think positive things. Get away from drama kings and queens in your life. Throw out depressing movies. Kick up your heels and dance. :) Read your bible daily. Put Jesus's characteristics into action within your own life, and you will be given peace. Find rest in God--your salvation and mighty refuge.

Praise him through your struggles. This was a weird concept for me to put into practice at first, but i went along with it...now it's become natural and i take joy and get comfort in doing praising and thanking God in difficult times..

"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
