How deep is your root?
If your root is not deep enough, be assured the plant will die at the first major challenge! A little conflict, and a shallow-minded Christian will fall.
God knows this. That's one of the reasons why He takes the one He wants to establish through a process to groom him for the position or role. Stuff has to go into you, otherwise you won't be able to withstand the evil days that are surely ahead.
Jesus showed us by example; He (God-in-flesh) secluded Himself in a 40-day preparation on earth, in addition to the heavenly preparation, before He began His earthly ministry.
Having walked with God for about four decades, it was not difficult for Abraham to offer Isaac to Him as his faith in God's faithfulness and ability to do anything had become very deep.
How deep is your root in God and His word? Do you believe that His promises to you will come to pass? Are you prepared to wait however long it takes for you to receive your blessings from Him? Will you despair when He takes you through the wilderness or the valley of the shadow of death? Will you doubt Him, if you don't hear from or receive from Him ASAP?
Study to show yourself approved unto God. Let His words dwell in you, richly. Wait on Him, always. Let your hope be in Him, alone. Be rooted in Him.
