We once were nothing. And now we're something.
Genesis 2:7 The LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.
It is so neat to think about that once we were was nothing. All that we know had yet to exist. God literally took the dust from the ground, swirled it around, creating some a figure of a man, still just a form, with no life.. only to take one breath, fill the man up with air, and turn this form into a living breathing man- the first person to ever be made. Then, God cared enough to see that it was not good for this man to be alone. Although God cared desperately for the man, He wanted to provide for all of His humanly needs and give the man a helper, a companion, someone to do life with, help him along the good path, and provide love and support. How great is our God to not only create the human being and be jealous for their love and attention, but to care enough to create other beings that may even share in that attention or detract some of that attention away from Him. I can only imagine the heart cry of God when Adam and Eve lost focus on God, and paid attention to the serpant, forever losing contact with the one and only true God. How devastating to lose your children to the enemy because of the choices they made.. even after you warned them and commanded them specifically to not make that choice. I'm so thankful God had a way, a new way, to bring us back to Him. Thank you Jesus for taking away my wrongs and bearing them for me, so that I could live in fellowship with God again.
I once was nothing. And now I'm something. I'm saved by the blood of Christ. What am I going to do with it? This is an incredible gift from an incredible God who's thoughts are beyond our understanding. He holds all of the possible intelligence of the world. Sees all things- even where others cannot see. He sees our hearts, our thoughts, He sees the oppressed and the hurting. He knows how hard it is to go through pain- He sent His only son to die on a cross. He DIED on a Cross for ME. He knows my hurts, my sufferings, and the struggles in this life but he KNOWS better than me. He knows that the road ahead is so much brighter for me, if only I trust in Him.. everything will be just as it is meant to be.
Dear God, help me to do everything I can with this gift you have provided for me. Teach me and encourage me to be the daughter that you have dreamed for me to become. In Jesus precious name, forever and ever, Amen.
