Manna 2.0
God moved the progression of Israel's provision along in such a way that they no longer needed to rely simply on manna from heaven. Now they could enjoy a new "manna" - still dependent on God's provision but also requiring their diligence in a new way. A parent requiring new responsibilities to maintain the same standArd of satisfaction is not less loving. On the contrary, it provides them a new perspective and skill underneath the careful tutelage of the parent. And once that skill is learned and a new standard is in place, the old version of "manna" is nowhere to be seen, giving way to a more mature, more worthy version of God's provision for His people.
