I can predict the end of the World! Read on!!
2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief...
Is is not interesting how many people try to predict the end of the world?
Even a Christian pastor indicated and exact date and time, which came and went, but to save face when it did not happen, he predicted another date, which came and went.
Nostradamus, I believe also indicated a time in which the world is to end and now we have the Mayan calendar that many people our jumping on the band wagon, saying that the end of the world is coming in December of this year!
Movies and books are coming out of everywhere, but not many that states the truth. It seems as this is a subject not to be touched or mention in churches today, though there are a few that will teach of the last days.
So lets get a reality check here. I will predict when the world is coming to an end. You ready?
Here is my predictions! "I don't know." I said, so lets all jump on the band wagon, write books, make movies.
What? you can't write books and make movies on I don't know? Well I'm sorry then, but I really have to go by what God teaches in His word and Peter spells it out here in verse 10; " But the day of the Lord will come like a thief."
Hmm, I don't see a time line, do you?
One of the most amazing things about Gods word, is that it does not lie. It gives no time time table or, as some have stated and written about, no codes or secret messages of when these events will occur.
Lets look at this in another way. If we knew when the world would end, would you have given yourself to Jesus? Probably not, because you would have time to live the selfish life that is so common to us before many of us came to Christ. It is just the way we humans are.
We would know that we have time to indulge in the life many of once lived. So God place no time table for His Sons returned, but it is not because He wants to scare us to Him, but because of His love for His creation as we see in verse 9 of 2 Peter 3;
"The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise...Instead He is patient with you,not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."
I think that sums it up, don't you? As you see He is patience with us, waiting for all who He has called has answered Him before Jesus returns.
God loves us so much, that He is still waiting for us to return to Him and there are many people out there who still needs Jesus.
God will return one day and that is a fact. Is there a time table for this? No, but I do believe we are living in the last days, because the Lord did leave us with what to look for as signs of the times in Matthew chapter 24.
When we look around, the evidence is clear and that you and I cannot denied, but as I said many times, there is no time table, no secret codes.
Jesus spelled it out very well in Matthew regarding His return:
"But of that day and hour no knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.... Watch therefore, for you do not know when the hour your Lord is coming. But know this, that if the master of his house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to broken into." (Matt. 24: 36, 42-43"
The main thing is not to worry when the time comes, because if we are ready and doing all we can in obeying the and walking in the Lords command, we will be removed for this earth in the rapture, but we are to be on watch as Matt 24:44
"Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect."
Yes Jesus is coming, when I can't tell you, but the signs of the times is all around us. Will it be in my life time? Maybe, I can't sit here and wonder about that. I need, as well as you, to keep doing what God commanded us to to do; And that is to reach the lost. Take the gospel to them, let them know how much Jesus loves them.
As Jesus said, the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Until the church is rapture, we still need to reach these lost people, not through condemnation as I see many street preachers with their signs telling people they are going to hell if they don't choose Jesus, though that is correct, but through compassion and love as Jesus did so often as see in His word.
He is our Savior and mentor on how to reach people, look at the story of the woman at the well, John 4: 3-26.
This is a perfect example of how to witness and reach another person, as you read and study, you will see there is no condemnation, just compassion and interest in her. That is how we are to reach others for Christ, that is how I was reach, by a loving compassionate family.
Yes the end is near, and yes we have a duty to do. So keep watch and keep on witnessing for the Lord until that day comes.
No predictions is offered in the bible, there is no secret codes, He will come as a thief in the night to remove us from this earth, but until then, become workers in the field and harvest the lost souls who are searching for the way and true meaning of life. The Holy Spirit will guide you and speak the words other will need to hear. Do it love and compassion as Jesus did.
Amen
