God wants our love
S: Leah was not loved by her husband Jacob. Jacob instead loved her sister his other wife. Yet Leah gave Jacob four sons. After the fourth son, Leah chose instead to love the Lord.
O: As humans we all want to be loved and appreciated. Leah was probably jealous and hurt by Jacob's love for her sister. Leah was giving Jacob sons but he still wasn't loving her and then finally she realized that it is the lord who would be able to fulfill her life and love. It was God who was really trying to get her attention.
A: I think this story is important to me to help me remember that God will supply all of my needs and fulfill my wants. People will hurt me and treat me wrongly whether purposely or not, it's just human nature to make mistakes. Yet it is so very important to remember that God is the supplier of our joy and happiness. He is the one who will be able to offer us comfort and hope. We should always rely on God because he will never let us down.
P: Heavenly Father, thank you for your wise words today. Thank you for your love. Lord I'm amazed that you love us so much that you want to have a real relationship with us and that you even allow things to happen so that you may get our attention. Lord help me to remember to always come to you when I need help and comfort. Help me to remember that you, the King of the universe care and love me, and because of that I don't need other people's approval. Lord thank you for your loving gifts that you have showered upon me. I pray these things in your powerful name, amen.
