religiosity or compassion

I love this scripture for the most part because of Jesus insight that he was been set up however he showed compassion anyway.
How many friends do we have outside of church, close friends we know not living the promises of God and following the Lord even though they may have had an encounter of some kind with God and His kingdom. They don't know why they make the life choices that they do or why their life is the way it is.
In my experience I've often been discouraged by others even Christians to either steer clear or to not have as much to do with people who are making not so good choices that are obvious to all. They extract scriptures about people who practice lawlessness and that's valid enough for blatant disobedience. However ...
Jesus loves all and God desires all to come to the knowledge of Jesus. For some of the people in know who aren't in church at the moment, I may be the only lifeline or contact they have with the Kingdom of God. The only taste of Jesus love and compassion that they may encounter on the cusp of entering God's promise and purpose for they're life.
Just remember who Jesus hung out with and yes you might say "o but He is Jesus son of God". Didn't Jesus say that all that He had been given and all authority He gave to us. We have the power through Jesus to heal withered lives and to do good instead of doctrine.
