Who Needs Friends? Pt. 3
Batter up, Zophar. It's your turn.
This man had the nerve to discredit EVERYTHING about Job. He was like, "Man, you know you did it. Are you trying to call God a liar? If you didn't do anything, God wouldn't put you through so much stress. Just give it a rest and repent." And it's sad to say that we all have friends like this! Friends who always think, "She know she did wrong. Why doesn't she just admit it?" Well, for the people out there who are like that, just know this: just like you think that God is almighty, know that He. Can. Do. Whatever. He. Wants!
God promised that he wouldn't put more on us than he can bear (1 Corinthians 10:13). If He didn't think that Job couldn't handle it, do you think He would have allowed Satan to attack him? NO! He would have chosen someone else. But people like Zophar are out there to make you feel like it is ALWAYS your fault, like you had to have done something wrong. Yes, I believe God to be a just God, and He does things for a reason, but God isn't going to just bless anyone. You have to go through to get your blessing, to get your recognition, to have God say, "Oh yes, that one is willing to go to bat for Me." Don't let your Zophars make you feel that you are powerless and should just give it up. Do like Job did: go to God and make your case. God is not some standoffish God who is all, "HOW DARE THESE PEOPLE THINK THEY CAN COME TO ME?! I. AM. GOD!"
No.
He wants you to come to Him. He wants you to step out on faith and believe that you can always ask Him questions, speak to Him about your concerns. That's what He wants, and I believe that for establishing that connection, He will bless you all the more!
