2:1-3 The bad news.....
You were dead in your transgressions (sins)
The second we were born we were cut off from the light. We were cut off from God because of sin. We are guilty, that is our only plea.
Think of how we justify our self, or try to justify ourself before God. "but I did this good thing,I did that good deed, I am a good person" What about the times you didn't?
2:4-7 The good news...
BUT! (biggest but in the Bible?)
It's Gods great.. GREAT love. Rich with mercy. It is by grace that we are saved! The gift of His Great love, Mercy, Grace!
We are trophies of God's. Grace. Think of how messed up you were before you found Christ.. Now look at you, look how God has cleaned up your life. What God has done in my life, it deserves to be Gods trophy.
2:8-10
Think, it's because of grace. God gives it to us. How many of us would make others earn it? And because of Gods grace, we can't boast that we earned our way into heaven.
Take time to think about this gift of grace from God. Think of Christ's death on the cross. Think of the price paid for our sins. Doesn't God deserved us to be trophies of His love and His Grace?
