Jn 13:35 - I love because I belong to Christ.

Lk 10:25-28 - Love the Lord your God with everything of yourself.

Eternal life in Jesus' context is a quality of life that goes beyond the ordinary.

1 Cor 13 - Christianity without Christ is useless.

The worlds love
-love does not last
-acceptance/tolerance erodes over time
-I fall in and out of love
-I feel really good from love

1 Jn 4:19-21 - Who ever loves God must also love his brother.

What hinders a loving disposition
-selfishness
-lust for glamour
-boredom
-laziness
-wounded/orphaned heart
-unhealthy self image
-jealousy and covetousness
-stress
-you are living in sin

Gal 5:22 - the fruit (evidence) of the spirit (a Christ follower) is love.

Application
- daily open your heart to the convictions and workings of the spirit
