Breaking of Bread
I believe this section defines and symbolizes the importance of church activities and communion. Some may disagree, but the breaking of bread in this section symbolizes the broken body of Christ during his last supper. I believe that bread was a perfect food source from God; it is wholesome and filling, which is what Jesus does for our body and soul. When the apostles broke bread during their fellowship, they were setting an example for our churches today. These men were the world's #1 religious leaders! It is a shame that some Christian churches do not offer communion today. Although it takes more than a bite of bread to accept Jesus, it gives Christians the opportunity to spend time with Christ as we eat and remember Him.
If the term for "breaking bread" meant "dinner", I can see the importance of that as well. After all, the Old Testament has several accounts where the whole community came together and feasted in God's temple. I believe it is important for all Christian churches take the time to celebrate God, feast in His honor, bring the community together in His name, and show our praise! What better way to welcome people by serving bread and worshipping Jesus?
