Stinking holiness!

Do you ever wonder when you read these rules and laws and such....how did they do it?
Really? So much stuff!

Do you ever wonder, how in the world am I ever going to be Holy, as He asks us to be!
Be holy, as I am holy!
Well, the truth is, we're not going to do it.

“Remember my commands and obey them; I am the Lord. Show respect for my holy name. You Israelites must remember that I am holy; I am the Lord, who has made you holy. (Leviticus 22:31, 32 NCV)

We can't scrounge up enough righteousness in us to be Holy! It's just not there! But He has plenty and He wants to give it to us!
" I AM the Lord who has made you Holy!"

It's not a process! It's been done! YOU ARE HOLY! You're not working for salvation or holiness.

Well, I don't feel so holy today.
That's ok, God doesn't give you righteousness based on your performance!
He gives us righteousness based on His performance!

It's a done deal!

But, can we live like we want and still be holy?

The Lord said to Moses, “Tell Aaron and his sons: ‘The people of Israel will give offerings to me. These offerings are holy, and they are mine, so you must respect them to show that you respect my holy name. I am the Lord.’ (Leviticus 22:1, 2 NCV)

We should ask ourselves a question.
Am I respecting God? He deserves respect!
If we're not respecting God perhaps we are not really His child! Ouch....

When we became children of God, we became saints! We are Gods Holy Children! We are Holy because He is Holy!
Not because we're perfect, but because He is! Because we're HIS!

So you must be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect. (Matthew 5:48 NCV)

For I am the Lord your God. You shall therefore consecrate yourselves, and you shall be holy; for I am holy. Neither shall you defile yourselves with any creeping thing that creeps on the earth. (Leviticus 11:44 NKJV) ( stay away from creepy things too! )

When He says be perfect and Holy, it would be easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle!

It's impossible....without Him!
But He sees us as perfect! He sees us as Holy.

He is looking at us through rose colored glasses. We're not really perfect or Holy,
But through those rose colored glasses He see's Jesus.. And Jesus makes us look good! Jesus is worthy, He is Holy! So He makes us worthy !
He made us good enough! And perfect, and Holy enough! He did the work, not us!

Don't rely on your feelings about holiness, but neither wallow around with the hogs in their mud and manure! Who wants to stink when they're Holy? I wouldn't want stinking holiness!
