Leadership

How many of us dream to "be in charge" only to find that it is a road full of fire? We finally reach the top and next thing we know, someone is turning against us. Not everyone can relate to leadership. Not very many of us became Captain or the President. However, one form of leadership that many identify with is parenting. It is no easy task. Parents are not only responsible for their child, but they are often met by ridicule from their kids and even other adults. It seems overbearing at times, some even "quit" because it's too much to handle, it seems. But that is not what God wants.

If you are a struggling leader, God sees your suffering. He hears your pleas. He is aware of your pain, because it is the same pain that has existed for thousands of years. The pain will end. A window will open.

In some cases, leadership is taken away... The apostles were temporarily denied authority when they were jailed. You may get fired, out-voted, or over powered. However, a leader in battle fights like a warrior, and you have God on your side. The beauty of leadership is that it requires others to follow...your work is not hidden from the eyes of the people, and nothing is hidden from God. When it comes to leading for "what's right", rank does not matter. It's the spirit of the leader that matters most. When God views us as a leader, He does not measure us by rank. He does not compare the CEO to the sales clerk. He measures the strength of your soul, your desire for what's right, and your spirit to spread those qualities to other people. That is what ALL good leaders do, and God is not the only one who sees it. People hunger for it too. They hunger for that drive and motivation to seek what is good, and find God.

Leadership is never easy and it comes with a price. It comes with jealous enemies and hateful criticisms. But God blesses those who lead, and He is always watching over good leaders. With God on your side, you will find your way back to the top.
