Multiple Seeds

This parable is so true I feel. I could see people behaving in such a manner. But I also feel there have been different times in my past in which I was the seed that did not produce a harvest. So does that mean it is possible to be more than one seed? How would this work? Maybe, in the parable's context--every year when it is time to sow, you are given an opportunity to be the fertile seed. However, in life the time to sow is everyday, we must strive to be the seed that produces crop everyday.
