Who should be killed nowadays?

The Old Testament is completely clear on the punishment that was to be received if one disobeyed God doing certain acts.  You would be put to death, period.  If these laws were still applicable today, we wouldn't have such a populated planet.  In fact, we wouldn't have much population whatsoever.

Nowadays, we don't have to give animal sacrifices as offering for every sin we commit, since the perfect sacrifice was crucified for OUR sins over 2000 years ago.  We receive forgiveness out of grace and mercy by being sincere in our regret for our sins.  (If it were still like the OT, we would've run out of animals to sacrifice a long time ago.)

The same goes for the death penalty.  Nowadays, it's not a physical death, same as the physical sacrifices given in the OT, but it's worse (and yet better); the spiritual death of those who commit such sins.

I say it's worse because, since it's spiritual and not physical, those who are dead much of the time don't realize it or just ignore it since they can't really appreciate the value of their spiritual life.  Yet, it's better because it means that until their physical deaths come, there's still hope that they discover God's grace and the salvation that He so lovingly has given us the chance to receive without much do to from our side.

It's a shame that there is so many people dead around us when now more than ever it has been made so easy to receive life!!!
