My Life Is In His Hands

Behold, I have engraved thee, your name, your life, in the palms of my hand; thy walls are continually before me.

"He's got the whole world in his hand"-

"You don't have to worry, and don't you be afraid. Joy comes in the morning, trouble they don't last always...I know that I can make it! I know that I can stand! No matter what comes my way. My life is in your hands! - (Kirk Franklin gospel artist)

How great it is to know that this is not just a spiritual theory, or spiritual cliche or Sunday School song... that God has the whole world in his hands, or that God's hands of mercy and protection are upon us or that God knows our name. But it is scriptural Fact!

God knows each one our names because he knew us before we were formed in the womb. (Jeremiah 1:5) But He didn't stop at just "knowing our name".

After we were formed and came out the womb, He didn't just forget about us and place our "birth certificate" in a 14kt gold frame on a huge "shelf of life" made of gold and pearls and command the angels to polish our frames every week. He doesn't just walk by the "shelf of life", smile, and say that's my boy or that's my girl when a new child arrives. (joking here).

Nope. God went a step further to show that He is ever present in our lives and that He KNOWS each one of us and has plans for each of us. This reminds me of Jeremiah 29:11:" For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

God engraved each of our names; He engraved our lives in the palms of his hand. The hand is a very useful and busy body part. Now keep in mind, God is infinite in wisdom and in all knowledge so He didn't have to do this. For like I said He KNOWS...But God chose to limit himself (as He often does to relate to us mortals) and through scripture inform US that He has engraved, or attached himself to us, as sign of assurance and encouragement to US to let US know that we are always in His control. He is always watching us. We are in good hands. He loves us so much that He keeps us as permanent part of his being. So we are "tattooed" on God for life. (smile).

Whether you want to take the engraving of our name/ life in the palms of God hand literally or figuratively just get the message. He loves us and He is forever attached to us. Our lives are in His Hand!
