Response to Jesus

There is a variety of responses that people can have when they encounter Jesus... And it was the same when Jesus arrived on earth as a baby...
The wise men, came in awe, reverence, worship and excitement, they didn't even see or know much about Jesus before they started their search for Him, the wise men just saw Jesus' star, and followed it... not fully knowing what to expect but were excited to find out what all of what this star meant. When they found Jesus their response was one of worship and adoration.

On their way, the wise men went to Herod, to report to him, that they were seeking the king just born, and were following that king's star...
This created a response in Herod of great fear, he became a "scaredy cat"... Herod was fearful, cause he didn't want to lose his kingdom, power and everything else he had. Herod felt threatened by this "new king", tho he didn't know much more about him than what the wise men did. Herod then went on to try and destroy Jesus, so that he could hold on to every thing that he had.

We all have a choice to make when we encounter Jesus... we can choose to fall down in surrender, awe and worship... which is the beginning of an exciting journey and relationship with Jesus....
or we choose to be fearful and scared of Jesus and just want to hold on to all of what we have.
