Men hate losing. We hate submitting. In the UFC, the worst thing to do is tap out or get knocked out. When we lose, we show vulnerability. Our pride is hurt, and by losing, we show others that we don't necessarily have control over everything like the facade we put forth.
Hate submitting to other men, but this is exactly what we must do with God!
Why is it a good idea to submit to God?
Honestly, that's a terrible question to ask. We know we should, but just try take some time and come up with some answers.
We, as humans, can't add a single hour to our life. (don't know that verse)
James 4:4-6
How would you define friendship?
-Loyalty
-Forgiveness
-Truthfulness
-Trust
-Someone you can walk with through mistakes
-Someone to who you can be authentic with through love
-Modeling how to live
-Similar interests
(aside)Be careful to not always lead with emotion in choices or decisions.
A friend of the world makes you an enemy of God. To be a friend of the world is to hate God. That's how God sees it.
When we go about our walk, we'll either strive to be a better friend to God, or we can be a friend to the world.
To clarify, what does it look like to be friend to God? Mostly action oriented. Scripture says that to live for God is to be an alien here. We are supposed to look different, and therefore, we understand why people see us as different, or weird, people.
With your friends on earth, you spend time, talk with, have fun with, work with or for, and so on; consequently, this is exactly what we should do in our relationship with God!! Spend time, talk to, work with or for, and have fun with our LORD. He will always be in your corner. He will always be loyal to you and walk with you!
The glory of the LORD is your rearguard. The LORD will always be behind you, always in front of you, and always beside you.
In our weaknesses we see his strength.
Verse 6
Have you seen humility that would not be classified as a weakness?
James 4:1-3
When you ask for something, ask with a pure heart, and when you receive, receive with the friendship we have with the LORD. Do not ask and receive so that it can fuel your friendship with the world.
Some of the best things that happen are things that happen when you aren't looking for it. "Always do the right things and you won't have any regrets."
