What Would Jesus Do?

Title: WWJD?
Text: 1 Corinthians 11:1

What Would Jesus Do?
Charles Sheldon 1896 wrote "In His Steps." In the book he asked the question, "what would Jesus do?"

Someone recently said that we look for a god who we can manage rather than the God who is actually there. When it comes to how we should live our lives we should study and imitate the life of Jesus. If Jesus is the Lord of our lives then our lives will reflect His nature.

The name Christian- originated as an insult. Little Jesus, follower of Christ. This should be our name - one who does what Jesus did.

What did Jesus do?
He created all things.
He left Heaven to come to save the world.
He healed, He forgave, He loved.
He brought hope into a world without hope.
He died on a cross for our sins.
He rose from the dead on the third day.

The real question to ask is WSWD?
What should we do?

Becoming a Christian is a process. Jesus said go and make disciples.
No man comes to God but those prodded by God himself.
The Holy Spirit changes us.

Abortion, homosexuality, and other current issues aren't in the Bible. So what should our reaction be in these situations?
We present the gospel and let God changes them.

Jesus loved people.
We should love people.
"Love one another as I have loved you"
"Love your neighbor as you love yourself"
"By this shall all men know you are my disciples that you love one another"

Jesus served people.
We should serve people.
"but made Himself nothing taking the very nature of a servant being made in human likeness." Philippians 2:7
"The greatest among you will be your servant" Matthew 23:11

Jesus preached and taught the Gospel.
We should proclaim the good news.
"From that time on Jesus began to preach Repent for the kingdom heaven is at hand." Matthew 4:17
"He said to them Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation." Mark 16:15
