Jonah 2; How do I live for God?
When Jonah was stuck in a fish...
Chapter 2 Impacts our lives if we want to live in significance...
People define significance in different ways. We measure different criteria. But I think we all want to have a significant life and we want to live it for God. But we struggle to live out for him.
We don't take the appropriate next steps.
Or feel like we don't have what it takes. It requires a strong heart for God. The strength of our heart determines our significance.
Let us loom at God's
1.) presence
2.) word
3.) worship.
Jonah 2:1.
Jonah hit rock bottom. He had drowned then was in pitch black with breathe and warmth only. He was forced to be in the presence of God. It is only God and him.
In our culture this type of environment is not going to Happen on its own. It takes surrender and major intentionality.
Come away and rest. Mark 6:31-32
It is His presence when our hearts are made Strong. Our time has to be guided when we are in His presence...
Psalm of Thanksgiving: structure
God answered my prayer
Why I was praying and what God did
He was referencing and alluding to twenty different Psalms. There was no Bible. He was quoting them. When was the last time you let God's word guide the time in the word?
Hebrews 4:12. It is living and active.
Worship=presence of God + the Word of God. It culminates on worship. Jonah 2:8-10.
Do we understand corporate worship on Sunday night? It is not the warm up act or the entertainment time. We are here to praise Him in His presence. It makes our heart strong.
I wants life to count for You...
Reading the Word corporately strengthens our heart, and it is an act of worship, not a liturgical practice.
GLORY. Be immersed in the Glory of our God. We must abide in His Glory.
