He Was Just Like Me...Just For Me
Heb. 2:17,18 "This means that he had to become like his people in every way, in order to be their faithful and merciful High Priest in his service to God, so that the people's sins would be forgiven. And now he can help those who are tempted, because he himself was tempted and suffered." (GNT)
I hear this all the time when I try to help someone who is struggling, "You just don't understand..." And most times they are right. I do not have the capacity to understand myself most of the time...let alone others.
But Jesus has that capacity. He became each of us...with all of our differences...in every way. He understands every pain, every weakness, every sin, every bad thing that has happened to us.
And that takes away every excuse that we could give for not following Him. We can overcome everything, every sin, every hurt, every violation...because He knows us and He helps us.
